How the Questions Are Kept Current
Every mock exam is checked once a month against its official curriculum. When the curriculum changes, the questions are reviewed and revised against it.
- 1Each exam is compared with its official sources every month
- 2Any difference is flagged for review
- 3The questions are reviewed and revised
- 4The reviewed curriculum is recorded for the next check
What the date means
Each exam shows one date: Last verified, the most recent day its questions were confirmed against the official curriculum. That happens in one of two ways:
- The monthly check reads every official source and finds nothing that differs from the curriculum the questions were last reviewed against.
- A review: when a check flags a change, the questions are reviewed against the new curriculum and revised where needed. The reviewed curriculum is recorded, and the next check compares against it.
A review does not always change questions: a new competency may already be covered. While a flagged change waits for review, the exam shows Update in review and no date.
What is compared
- The exam domains and their weights, on the Linux Foundation and cncf.io certification pages
- The competencies listed under each domain
- The pass mark, the exam duration and the question count, from the Linux Foundation exam FAQ and instructions
- The exam's curriculum PDF in the cncf/curriculum repository
- New major releases of the projects each exam covers, such as Argo CD, Cilium and Prometheus

A source that cannot be read never counts as a pass: an exam keeps the date it last earned until a check reads every source it depends on. A check stays current for 45 days; after that, an exam shows No recent check and is dated by its last review.
